Set in Steampunk Chicago of the late 1880, where zombies roam the streets in a quarantined section of the city.

Briar Wilkes has to rescue her headstrong teenage son from the ravening hordes with only her old rifle, guts and dab of help from a smuggler airship captain. Briar is basically a Badass.

I count this as feminist friendly because Briar is not only a strong character, she is a strong single mother character who is also not defined entirely by this one aspect. Hooray for varied depictions of women in fantasy fiction!
